|Saskatoon Blades (16-17-2-1) at Prince Albert Raiders (13-15-5-2)
Tonight – The Blades look to sweep the home & home series with the Prince Albert Raiders following last night’s 4-2 win at SaskTel Centre. The win put the Blades into a tie with the Regina Pats at 35 points, with Saskatoon holding the 1st wild card spot in the East and the Pats sitting in the second. So needless to say it’s a big night for the Raiders, the Blades, and the Regina Pats who are at home against the red hot Brandon Wheat Kings tonight.
The opponent – The Raiders have to feel disappointed in last night’s performance where they were nearly doubled on the shot clock by the Blades 41-22, so expect a hungrier group in PA tonight. Ian Scott did he could to give his team a chance to win, so should he get the nod again tonight the Blades will have to be opportunistic on their scoring chances.
For Saskatoon – The Blades have to keep an even keel heading into tonight’s contest. They’ve won 5 of their last 6 games and find themselves holding down a playoff spot, but have little room for error. A win tonight would give them some breathing room over PA, a loss would leave the two rivals tied for points again. Nolan Maier has won all of his last 5 starts, so expect the Blades to ride the hot hand again tonight.
The lineup – Up front Dryden Michaud returns from the IR after missing the last 3 games with an upper body injury… but the Blades lose Kirby Dach for the next week as he left last night’s game with an upper body injury. The rest of the lineup should stay the same unless the coaching staff decides to dress an affiliate player… ’02 F Kyle Crnkovic and ’01 D Majid Kaddoura are currently with the team.
F Caleb Fantillo – lower body, 3-5 weeks
F Kirby Dach – upper body, week-to-week
