Tonight – is the biggest game of the year for both the Blades and the Raiders. Saskatoon has a 3-point lead over PA for the final wild-card spot in the East but the Raiders have 2 games in hand. This is the 5th of 8 meetings on the season… the remaining 4 meetings could quite possibly decide who gets into the post-season and who doesn’t… and it begins tonight.
Head to head – the Blades have won 3 of 4 so far with the only loss coming in overtime so Saskatoon has earned at least 1 point in each contest. Defenseman Max Martin leads the Raiders with 4 points in the season series while Braylon Shmyr leads the Blades’ offense with 9pts in 4 head-to-head contests. Ian Scott has played every game in goal for PA while Nolan Maier is 3-0 against the Raiders with a .920SV%.
The lineup – A fully healthy roster once again for the Blades will leave the coaching staff with some decisions to as to who sits this one out. In goal, Tyler Brown has started the last two games for Saskatoon going 1-1 and posting a .942SV%. While Nolan Maier has been stellar against the Raiders this season, so has Brown when he was a member of the Regina Pats going 4-0 to go along with a .945SV%…. giving the Blades a good option either way.
Injury report:
– none
