Holtby is on pace to shatter the career longevity records for the Saskatoon Blades. Holtby was ranked 4th in the NHL's Final Central Scouting rankings amongst North American born goaltenders. Recorded first career WHL shutout on February 8th, 2008 and was an original 9th round (161st) selection by the Blades in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft. He was a member of Team Canada at the 2007 World U-18 Hockey Championships in Tampere, Finland and was also a member of Team WHL at the 2007 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge. Braden is the son of former Blades goaltender Greg Holtby (1983-85).
