Blades Bring Up Three for Remainder of Season
Saskatoon Blades General Manager & Head Coach Lorne Molleken announced today that forwards Levi Bews and Lukas Sutter and defenseman Darren Dietz have been called up for the remainder of the season.
Bews (Longview, AB), a 15-year-old, has been with the Blades full time since February 23rd after his midget season with the UFA Bisons (AMHL) came to an end. The 6’0”, 192-pounder has played 6 games with the Blades already and has been held pointless. The Blades took the right winger in the 2nd round (42nd overall) in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.
Sutter (Lethbridge, AB), a 16-year-old center, joins the Blades from the Lethbridge Y’s Men Hurricanes (AMHL) after seeing his midget season come to an end on the weekend. The 6’0”, 202-pounder was taken by the Blades in the 2nd round (42nd overall) in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
Dietz (Medicine Hat, AB), a 16-year-old, also comes to the Blades from the Lethbridge Y’s Men Hurricanes (AMHL). The 6’2”, 195-pounder was added to the Blades 50-man protected list earlier this season.
