Blades will make two selections in Thursday’s CHL Import Draft

The Saskatoon Blades are preparing to make two selections in the 2018 CHL Import Draft. This year’s draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 28th, at 9:00am CST.

Last season the Blades’ two import players were defensemen Libor Hájek (Czech Republic) and Mark Rubinchik (Russia). Hájek was traded to the Regina Pats in January while Mark Rubinchik signed a pro contract in the KHL giving Saskatoon two open import spots on the roster. Teams without open roster spots are unable to make a draft selection.

The Blades hold pick #23 in the first round and pick #83 in the second round. Due to several teams ahead of the Blades passing on their picks, the Blades are slated to pick 18th overall in the first round and 60th overall in the second round.

2014: Amil Krupic (Sweden), Nikita Soshnin (Russia)
