Hájek & Crunch begin road to Calder Cup Friday

After the Saskatoon Blades season ended, import defenseman Libor Hájek signed a professional contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning before flying south to join their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Hájek finished the regular season with the Crunch, scoring his first career pro goal to go along with a +4 rating and 4 penalty minutes in 8 games played.

The Syracuse Crunch won the North Division title and will open the Calder Cup playoffs Friday night against the St. John’s IceCaps who finished 4th in the North Division.
