The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce that goaltender Andrey Makarov has signed a three year entry level contract with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.
The Blades 2011-2012 Most Valuable Player is entering his 2nd full season with the club after posting 29 wins last season.

Makarov also has a history of international success, not just in the WHL. He won a silver medal with Russia at the World Junior Hockey Championships last winter and also played very well in August during the 2012 Canada-Russia Challenge, where he appeared in two games.
The Blades would like to congratulate Andrey on his first NHL contract and wish him all the best this season and in the future.
