Tonight… The Blades visit the Kootenay ICE for the first time this season looking to put together consecutive wins for the first time in over a month. Head to head…  The ICE took the first meeting of the season 4-2 in Saskatoon back on Nov. 1st, a loss the Blades should still be a little sour about since they held a lead going into the 3rd period. Peyton Krebs had 3 points in the game while Gary Haden and Kristian Roykas-Marthinsen scored for Saskatoon. Duncan McGovern earned the win for Kootenay… Nolan Maier was in goal for the Blades in the loss. Kirby Dach’s 33 points lead the Blades offense while fellow 2001-born centre Peyton Krebs’ 25 points lead Kootenay. Saskatoon brings a +6 goal differential compared to Kootenay’s -24… the Blades also hold the advantage in special teams with a combined success percentage of 101.5% while Kootenay’s is 100.4%.

Who’s hot… Max Gerlach has 5 goals in his last 3 games and 8 points in his last 5. Kirby Dach has 1G-5A in his last 3 games, while Tristin Robins has 3 points in his last 2 outings, 4 points in his last 4 games. The Blades power play has been clicking as of late with 5 PP goals in the last 3 games. Kirby Dach is tied for the league lead in power play assists with 12.

Road Warriors…Tonight is game 4 on the road in November for the Blades, the fourth straight game away from home. This month, Saskatoon plays 8 of 12 games on the road… 7 of 11 wins this season have come on the road.  7 wins have also come within the Central Division where the Blades have played the bulk of their schedule … 12 games going on 13 tonight.
