Having just turned 18 years old in March, Rubinchik was ranked 140th among North American skaters in the final NHL Central Scouting draft rankings, but with a strong showing this past week it would come as no surprise to see his stock rising.
The playoff round will resume on Thursday where Russia takes on Slovakia.
Also at the tournament is Blades Head Equipment Manager Chad Scharff, who is fulfilling that same role with Team Canada. Canada finished the preliminary round with the same record as Russia (2-1-0-1) and will face-off against Sweden in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
