TRADE: Blades send McCarty to Red Deer for 31st overall pick today

Calgary, AB – The Saskatoon Blades have completed a trade with the Red Deer Rebels sending ’97 F Mason McCarty to Red Deer in exchange for a 2017 2nd round pick 31st overall.

“With our overage situation heading into next season, we felt this was a good return which gives us another asset moving forward. At the same time we’d like to thank Mason for his contributions to our organization and the city of Saskatoon, and we’re pleased to give Mason a chance to play closer to home for his final season,” said Blades General Manager Colin Priestner.

The Blades still have five ’97 born players on the roster including F Braylon Shmyr, F Cameron Hebig, G Brock Hamm, D Evan Fiala, and G Logan Flodell.

Saskatoon now has the 31st, 35th, and 42nd overall picks in today’s draft.
