Blades Look Ahead to Hawks

On Saturday night the Blades gave up an early shorthanded goal off the stick of T.J. Fast and, despite tying the game later in the first period, could not come back as they fell 3-1 to the Americans.

Ondrej Fiala scored the Blades only goal in the game on the power play which finished 1 for 4 on the night.  Penalties hurt the Blades as they gave up 10 power plays to the Americans; however, only gave up one goal while killing off those 10 penalties.

Braden Holtby and Garrett Zemlak split the duties in goal with Zemlak making 28 saves on 30 shots en route to being named the games 3rd star.

The newest member of the Blades, Ondrej Fiala, now has 3 goals and 4 assists in 5 games since joining the team while defenseman Jyri Niemi leads the hockey club with 5 goals and 4 assists in 11 games this season.  Niemi leads all WHL rookie defenseman with 5 goals.
