Blades looking for 4th straight W

The Blades are looking for something that has eluded them so far this year – four consecutive wins.

“It would be awesome to get it,” said Nick Zajac at morning skate. “Moose Jaw has beat us the last few times, so to get number four, against them, it would be nice.”

The Blades will take on the Moose Jaw Warriors on Kids Take Over Night – the rink boards are drawn by kids, a youngster will sing the anthem, and even the reporter for the game will be a kid – Josh Malin, who did the interview with Zajac.

“It’ll be a lot of fun. Good to have you kids here,” said Zajac with a laugh. “Maybe you can take Blair’s (Blades Manager of Communications Blair Farthing) job! It was awesome last year, the kids do a great job, and hopefully we get a win for you.”

As the Blades are saying, they’re the number one team in the league since the trade deadline passed on January 10th – a three and oh record.

“We have a great group of guys here now, and it’s good to know the coaches and management believe in us. This is the group going forward, and we all believe. Now hopefully we can keep things going right now, get our fourth straight win against those Warriors.”

The Blades will play the second game of a back-to-back weekend series on Sunday, when they host the Prince Albert Raiders at 2pm in a special afternoon game. The game will feature Girls Rock, a special pre-game luncheon, and a post-game skate for those that attend the luncheon, which will feature former Huskies Hockey player Misty Alexandre.
