Nolan Reid earns full time promotion to Blades

One of the Blades’ top young defensemen will be sticking around for the rest of the year.

Nolan Reid, who was called up from Midget AAA when injuries hit several Blades in late October, has earned a full time promotion to the big club, said Head Coach and General Manager Bob Woods.

“We had number issues so we called him up, because he was playing very well at Notre Dame. He was playing above that level, he’s come up here and played well here, and we think its best for his development that he sticks around, and helps us out”.

The 16 year old Deer Valley product has two assists in five games, and has been solid in the defensive zone in his short time with the Blades.

“He’s a very smart player, he works hard, and wants to get better. His only weakness, if I have to find one, is he needs to grow a bit and get stronger, but he’s only 16, so that will come with time”.
