The best of the Blades: Vote for all-star teams from each decade
From inaugural WHL scoring champ Gerry Pinder to two-time Norris nominee Mike Green, scores of outstanding players have skated for the Saskatoon Blades since the team’s inception in 1963.
Now we’re inviting you to choose your favourite stars from the past five decades.
Leading up to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Saskatoon, fans will be able to vote online for franchise all-star teams from each decade. We’ll start with the Team of the Millennium (2000 to present) and trace all the way back to the Blades’ origins in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League during the early 1960s.
For each decade, we’ll provide a list of players. Go ahead and make your selections from that era. Everyone who votes will be entered to win game tickets to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup at Credit Union Centre.
The voting schedule is as follows:
All five all-star teams will be unveiled during the 2012-13 WHL season.
