The Saskatoon Blades wrapped up the 2016-17 season on the wrong end of a 5-1 final in Prince Albert. After an emotional evening on Friday night where the Blades beat the Raiders but were simultaneously eliminated from the playoffs, Saskatoon just didn’t have enough in the tank to knock off the hometown Raiders.

Mason McCarty scored the lone goal for the Blades, but the Raiders scored 5 unanswered giving their sold out crowd a victory in their final home game.

The rivalry didn’t disappoint as the two clubs combined for 100 penalty minutes on the night. Despite the loss, Saskatoon comes away with the season series, going 5-3 against the Raiders in 8 meetings this year.

Stay tuned this week for year end stories, plays of the year, and more as we look back on the 2016-17 Saskatoon Blades season.
