The Saskatoon Blades are feeling good after back-to-back wins over the weekend, and they will look to bring some momentum with them on the road this week. It’s a three game trek through the Central Division beginning on Wednesday night in Lethbridge.
Game 2 is set for Friday night in Medicine Hat at 7:30pm, and then the trip comes to a close with a stop in Edmonton versus the Oil Kings on Saturday.
The Blades will be without 16-year-old centre Kirby Dach is who in Northen B.C. this week preparing for the World U17 Challenge. Dach, along with Blades goaltending prospect Nolan Maier, will suit up for Team Canada Black. They open the pre-tournament on Thursday against Finland.
With Dach away and several injuries up front, the Blades have called up ’01 forward Logan Doust. The 16-year-old centre was a 9th round selection in the 2016 Bantam Draft and appeared in 5 pre-season games with Saskatoon in September. Doust plays for his hometown Vancouver NW Giants in the BCMML, and has 3 points in 5 games so far this season.
Injured forwards Caleb Fantillo (upper body, weekly) and Logan Christensen (3-5 weeks) will not be attending the road trip. Brandon Machado has missed the last 2 games, but is travelling with the team and could return to action as soon as Wednesday in Lethbridge.
The next Blades home game is Friday, November 10th for Salute our Veterans & Forces Night versus the Swift Current Broncos. Click here for tickets or call 306.975.8844 to book your group night or experience package!
