The Blades closed out the home schedule of the 2016/17 season with a special night of thanks to all the fans who have supported the Blades throughout the year and in seasons past. Fan Appreciation Night brought out over 10,000 fans and featured prizes every whistle, concourse raffles and some Irish themed activities and items on the concourse.

“Fan Appreciation Night was absolutely unbelievable, an incredible game, a monstrous crowd, and what a blast giving away a prize every whistle,” said Blades president Steve Hogle.

One fan even had the opportunity to take to the ice in the second intermission for a chance to win a 2017 Ford Focus courtesy of Merlin Ford Lincoln, and had a blast doing so.

“I was a little bit nervous when I first walked out there, when I was actually doing it it was just shooting pucks but it was nice to see the crowd cheer me on even though I didn’t bring it home,” said Sean Schroeder, the participant in the contest.

The crowd cheered on all night, and it helped the Blades capped off the home schedule with a 5-3 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders.
