Blades Head into the Regular Season with a Winning Record

Warman, SK – The Saskatoon Blades wrapped up their final pre-season match in Warman Saturday, dropping the contest 2-1 against the Prince Albert Raiders. The team would finish the pre-season with three wins and two losses in their five contests.

The Raiders wasted no time, getting on the board only 44 seconds into the game. Tanner Molendyk would answer with a goal himself later in the period, when the defence man wound his way into Raiders territory, sniping it under the arm of the Raiders net minder. The game would remain in a deadlock with both goalies making crucial saves in the second and third periods, keeping the game at 1-1. The Raiders eventually found the back of the net with 3:20 left on the clock to win the game.

Goaltender Austin Elliott made 24 saves on 26 shots, with many key saves coming in the second frame.
