Blades reacquire infamous in-game host Kroeker

SASKATOON, SK – For the second straight day, the Saskatoon Blades have made a trade. They acquired in-stand announcer Clayton Kroeker (‘91) in a trade with the ASHL for a milk crate full of pucks and future considerations.
Kroeker was with the Blades between 2015-2018. During those four seasons, he put up some impressive numbers. He had an 84% crowd participation rate in ‘Go Blades Go’ chants. Out of the 167 T-shirts throwing attempts, he completed an impressive 134 to fans in the stands.
During the 2018 season, he helped set up two proposals, gave away over $5,000 in gift cards, and finished the year with only 4 mispronunciations.
“Stats are great, but the team comes first,” said Kroeker. “I’m just happy to be back with the squad after a few seasons away.”
With the home opener just days away. GM Colin Priestner is a bit worried about Kroeker’s conditioning.
“He was such a sweaty mess during the games when he was in shape,” said Priestner. “Judging by his Instagram, he’s clearly out of shape. I don’t think someone can get more sweaty than that… but I guess we’ll see on Saturday.”
The 6’1, 230-pound red-head from East College Park won the WHL’s Sweatiest In-Stand Announcer award back in 2017. He gives the pre-game tater tots at SaskTel Centre the credit for that award.
“If I’m being honest, the free tater tots are the main reason I’m coming back.”
