Saskatoon Blades Announce 2022-23 Opening Night Roster

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the club’s 2022-23 opening night roster ahead of their home-and-home series against the Prince Albert Raiders. The preliminary roster includes 15 forwards, 9 defensemen, and two goalies.

Two players currently attending NHL Camps are forwards Josh Pillar and Conner Roulette. Pillar is a former fourth round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and is in St. Paul, MN, attending the Minnesota Wilds main camp. Roulette, who is also a former fourth round pick in 2021, is in Dallas, TX, attending the Dallas Stars main camp.

Brandon Lisowsky, Justin Lies, and Charlie Wright return to the team after attending NHL rookie camps earlier this month. Lisowsky, who was drafted by Toronto in the 2022 NHL Draft, attended the Maple Leafs camp and returned this week. Lies and Wright were both invites to camps. Wright attended the Edmonton Oilers rookie camp in Penticton, BC, while Lies attended the Vegas Golden Knights camp in California.

This years roster also includes eight players who are eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft, headlined by defenseman Tanner Molendyk and Tyler Parr.

The Blades open the regular season in Prince Albert this Friday, September 23rd against the Raiders, with the home opener, presented by Merlin Lincoln Ford, taking place in Saskatoon on Saturday, September 24th.
