Statement Released On Passing Of Wade Belak

The Saskatoon Blades family is shocked and saddened by the news of the passing of Wade Belak.

The Saskatoon native and former Saskatoon Blade played parts of four seasons with the team in the early to mid 1990’s.  As a member of the team he suited up in 211 games, registering 53 points and 746 penalty minutes.

Belak was drafted in the first round of the 1994 NHL draft by the Quebec Nordiques and went on to a long and successful career playing in 549 NHL games with 5 different NHL teams.
