Blades looking to get lucky on Vegas Night

When you think of Las Vegas, the lights, music and action come to mind. The Blades are looking for a little of the same on Vegas Night when they host the first place Medicine Hat Tigers – lighting the goal light, hearing the music of their goal song, and some great action on the ice.

“It should be a great game,” said Head Coach Bob Woods. “Medicine Hat, obviously, is a great team, and we’ll have to play them hard, play them smart to get a win.”

The Tigers will certainly provide a huge challenge, as the odds look to be in their favor – they’re one of the top teams in the WHL, and feature the top two scorers in the league in Trevor Cox and Cole Sanford.

“Those are two guys we’re going to have to keep an eye on. They’re dynamic, they can score almost at will, and we’re going to need good goaltending and smart defence to win.”

This will be the first home game for several of the Blades – Brock Hamm, Kolton Dixon, Mitch Skapski and Brycen Martin were all recently added to the roster through trades and call-ups, and should provide a much needed boost on all areas of the ice.

“We’re young, talented, and ready to show we can compete. It’s a big game, against a top team, and the boys are ready.”

It’ll also be a big night for one lucky fan, as someone will go home with a free trip to Sin City!

The Blades are in action again on Saturday, when they host the Kootenay ICE.
